The airstrip is a comfortable 1000 metre grass / sand strip, with an uninterrupted approach. Kunkuru operates a radio and rangers clear the runway of game immediately prior to an aircraft's landing approach. The runway has been well cleared of bush on all sides and secure aircraft parking is available.

This second photograph is an overhead shot. The building visible on the right hand edge is the hangar in which the owners keep their Cessna 182.
